Ana Pupedan comes from Pivka, where their characteristic linguistic and musical identity comes from. The band's first rehearsal was on 7.11.1992, when the members combined different musical experiences and created their own interweaving of rock, punk, blues, jazz, music, improvisation and local storytelling. The lyrics are often spiced up with an authentic Beer dialect, which emphasizes belonging and growing into the local environment.

In more than three decades of activity and over 1500 concerts, the group has formed a stable authorial opus and musical expression that deviates from genre schemes. Their concerts are based on energy, improvisation, dramaturgical location and humor, which makes them popular both in clubs and in larger venues of various formats. The professional public regularly ranks them among the most original Slovenian music ensembles after independence. Music critics describe their work as distinctly authentic, genre-diverse and socially reflective, with humour and dialectal poetics standing out, which have become recognisable elements of their musical expression.

The central cast consists of: Simon Avsec, Boštjan Požar, Peter Žnidaršič, Andrej Pirjevec
